St Michael's-on-Sea is a small coastal town lying between Margate and Port Shepstone on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal. The town has a post-card worthy beauty with pristine beaches and a placid lagoon offering plenty of opportunities for water sports and holiday recreation.
Situated on the South Coast, also known as the Hibiscus Coast, St Michael's-on-Sea is known for its beautiful coastline. The main swimming beach at the mouth of the Umhlangeni River is great for swimming and surfing with warm water and epic swells, given the protection of shark nets and lifeguards during the school holidays. Other water sports include wind surfing, jet skiing, boating, scuba diving, and snorkelling to discover the tropical fish, sharks, jelly fish, sting rays, and coral reefs offshore. There are also several good fishing spots and tidal pools for little ones to splash about in.
