Description

At an impressive 620km², the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve is South Africa’s second largest private reserve, located in Hoedspruit, Limpopo. This reserve was established in 1969, decaled a nature reserve in 1972, yet it has only been accessible to tourists since 1995. The reserve consists of a smaller collection of smaller reserves that border the Kruger National Park and Olifants River. The Klaserie River acts as a magnet for wildlife in the area, drawing birds and mammals out into the open for splendid viewing opportunities.

Wildlife to be spotted here includes lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, warthog, spotted hyena, baboon, and hippo. In addition, there are also impala, kudu, vervet monkey, waterbuck, wildebeest, bushbaby, mongoose, duiker, steenbok, klipsringer, genet, and bats. There is also a chance that you may spot wild dog, cheetah, roan antelope, bat-eared fox, honey badger, porcupine, aardvark, caracal, serval, and more.
