Description

van Loveren Wine Estate is an exceptional wine farm located in Robertson in the Western Cape. Visitors can choose from an informal tasting at the pods or a relaxed food and wine pairing on the deck overlooking the garden, cellar and garden tours, and plenty of other outdoor activities.

Food and wine pairings
  • Chocolate and wine
  • Cheese and wine
  • Charcuterie and wine
  • Nougat, nuts and wine
  • Four Cousins fan pairing
  • Non-alcoholic pairings
Garden

The garden surrounding the winery is the legacy of Jean Retief who, since her arrival in 1937, has planted trees to honour family, political, and historical occasions. A leaflet detailing all these stories is available and visitors are welcome to take part in a self-guided or guided tour.

Christina’s Bistro

Christina’s is an informal bistro which specialises in thin crusted pizzas, gourmet burgers, and a freshly squeezed fruit juice. Pair the meal of your choosing with a glass of your favourite Van Loveren wine. Live music is offered on Sundays.

Fish Eagle hiking trail

The Fish Eagle Hiking trail is a 7.5 km circular trail that starts at the winery, and offers spectacular views, birdlife, and flora. Although it’s not very long, it is a challenging route with steep slopes over the Elandsberg mountain and loose gravel. You will need a fair level of fitness to enjoy this trail.
