"Stellenbosch is a vibrant student town. There are many excellent restaurants and of course, wine farms to pick and choose from. It is safe to take a walk through Dorp street and visit all the small, interesting shops."
"Nice - but it is ultimately a student town. Parking is a huge issue. Close to wine farms etc. which is great for international tourists."
"Stellenbosch is beautiful and packed with restaurants and shops. Parking is a problem, especially when Stellenbosch University students are on campus. Most places have no backup power, so restaurants only serve a limited menu, and no coffee or other hot drinks during load-shedding. Makes you wonder how they maintain the cold chain of their perishable products."
"We were surprised by the heat and the terrible traffic in Stellenbosch town, but exploring the lovely wineries and estates was outstanding."
"Stellenbosch is baie sentraal vir gaste wat die wêreld wil verken en geniet."
"A safe city with friendly people, the beach was 20 km away and the mall had quite some major shops for any kind of traveler."
"We probably experienced Stellenbosch at its worst during the week of students arriving for the year - no parking, hectic traffic and chock-a-block restaurants. The only bearable way to get around is to eventually find parking, pay R8/hr and walk to wherever you want to go which can be far!"
