Bag End Cottage @ Rivendell Trout Estate is a lovely self-catering cottage nestled amongst other units situated on the banks of the fast-flowing Spekboom River, situated on the Rivendell Trout Estate, located within the Mount Anderson Water Catchment Reserve, a vast conservancy spanning thousands of hectares. This reserve is home to an abundance of wildlife, including kudu, bushbuck, duiker, bush pigs, and baboons, which roam freely throughout the area. Visitors can often see these animals grazing peacefully while they enjoy fly fishing for trout.
This cottage has a sleeping capacity of 8 guests and comprises 4 tastefully furnished bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The main and second bedrooms are each furnished with a king-size bed, while the third and fourth bedrooms have 2 single beds. They share the use of 2 bathrooms fitted with a bath, shower, basin, and toilet. Linen and towels are provided.
The open-plan kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge-freezer, stove, oven, microwave, cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. It extends to a lovely dining space and further opens to the lounge furnished with comfy couches and a cosy fireplace.
The cottage opens up to a patio with outdoor furniture, perfect for alfresco dining. The comfy deck comes with wood and gas braai facilities and overlooks the trout pools in the river.
This property is situated en route to the Kruger National Park and is centrally located for day visits to destinations such as Dullstroom, Bourke's Luck Potholes, Sudwala Caves, and Pilgrim's Rest.
