Description
Bushbabies Lodge is situated on the North Eastern side of the Dinokeng Big 5 Game Reserve, away from traffic, music, lights and the hustle-and-bustle of busy city life. A beautiful shaded lawn area in lush green gardens is the centerpiece of the magnificent lodge for all our guests to enjoy.
The lodge boasts a variety of self-catering accommodation options to choose from. The luxury chalets include a family unit, honeymoon suite and all-rounder couples unit. Every unit has its own private boma. The secluded honeymoon suite has a heated splash pool and is situated on the Big 5 fence-line.
The lodge also has tented camp sites consisting of dome tents with double or single beds, or an adventurous junior-dome on a 1 meter elevated platform on 2 camping sites which is a favourite among young explorers. The tented camps are fully equipped with cutlery, crockery, a bar fridge, linen and towels and each has its own private ablution and boma.
Spacious caravan sites are also available and each have their own private ablution and boma and are shaded, with electrical and water connections. Most of our caravan sites overlook the fence-line.
THE SLIDE is a restaurant, Gin Bar and Coffee Shop on the premises. It boasts an extensive food menu and is known for their sourdough pizza and burgers (which include a kudu burger). The Gin Bar has an extensive range of gins in access of 100 gins!! We also have the full range of DARLING BREW beers (including a large variety of craft beers) from the West Coast of South Africa. ON TAP from Darling include a LAGER, G & T, R & R and a CIDER. Nuy Winery wines are also available per glass or per case. Restaurant hours are from 07h00 to 19h00 Mondays to Saturdays and 08h00 to 14h00 on Sundays. Catered conferencing facilities are available.
At the heart of the lodge is THE SLIDE – a lively restaurant, gin bar, and coffee shop all in one. It features an extensive menu with standout items, including sourdough pizzas and the signature Kudu Burger. The Gin Bar boasts over 100 gins, while craft beer lovers can enjoy the full Darling Brew range, with lager, G&T, R&R, and cider available on tap. The glass or case serves Nuy Winery wines. Open Monday to Saturday 07h00–19h00)and Sunday 08h00–14h00, the restaurant also offers catered conferencing facilities and sells essentials like firewood, bottled water, ice, and firelighters.
Guests can relax around two communal swimming pools, complete with a lapa and under-roof braai area, all overlooking a waterhole where wildlife gathers – the perfect setting for a relaxed family atmosphere.
Kids will love the bush-style play area, featuring a splash pad, rock climbing wall, and interactive chalkboard wall. The fenced, bicycle-friendly activities include guided game drives, bush walks, mobile spa treatments, and mini-potjie meals delivered right to your door.
