Contreberg Country House is situated on a working wine and sheep farm, and offers a comfortable self-catering stay for 15 guests whilst enjoying a safe farm setting and a unique wedding and function venue to celebrate special occasions. This lovely country house is situated 9 km from Darling, 34 km from Yzerfontein, and 60 km from Cape Town. The endless rolling hills, vineyards, lawns, gardens, and hidden paths provide a relaxed backdrop for capturing special moments with family and friends.
The character-filled Cape-Dutch manor house was built in the 1800's and comprises 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The first bedroom contains a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower and bath. The second bedroom is a family bedroom with 2 single beds, a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The third and fourth bedrooms each contain a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The fifth bedroom is a family bedroom with a double bed, queen-size bed, a single bed, and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. One of the bedrooms has a fireplace, and hairdryers are provided.
The house features a fully equipped farm-style kitchen with a fridge-freezer, microwave, an oven and stove, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and a toaster. There are 2 living areas and a dining room. Board games are available.
Guests have access to secure parking, and braai facilities overlooking a garden filled with old oak trees. The farm offers a wedding venue capacity of 100 guests in the 'old barn', with a rustic feel and modern décor touches. The venue and garden are available for weddings.
