Description

De Oudewerf Guesthouse is situated in a manicured garden in Queenstown, and was originally a farmhouse in the district 120 years ago. The guest house has been lovingly restored and is now conveniently located within close proximity to schools, the hospital, and the country club.

The guest house is tastefully furnished and offers comfortable accommodation in 8 guest house rooms, and 4 self-catering rooms set apart in the garden. All rooms are equipped with tea- and coffee-making facilities, TV’s with selected DStv channels, ceiling fans, and electric blankets. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with showers, basins, and toilets, and 1 room has a bathroom with a bath, shower, basin, and toilet.

The guest house offers 3 undercover patios, 3 braai areas, a swimming pool, and beautiful tranquil gardens for guests to enjoy. English and continental breakfasts are served from 7:00 am until 9:00, a 3-course dinner with a beverage is served either in the dining room or on trays in the room, at an additional cost. Breakfast and lunch packs can be arranged for those who would prefer them.

The golf and country club nearby serves meals, as does the Gallery Restaurant just around the corner. The Wildschutsberg Game Reserve boasts 7 rhino with young, as well as giraffe and antelope. Trout fishing is a popular attraction in the area. There is a light aircraft airport with charter services from East London’s airport which is approximately 195 km away. The guest house offers an ideal base from which to explore the beautiful Eastern Cape en route to the foothills of the Southern Drakensberg at Elliot and Maclear.
