Description
Donkerhoek Country Living is a spacious self-catering home for up to 12 people in the beautiful bushveld.
The self-sustainable house comprises 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. The main bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed, and has an en-suite bathroom with a fancy composting toilet, as well as a shower and toilet. It also has two small child beds which can be moved to any other room. The second bedroom contains a king-size bed which can be converted into 2 single beds, and has an en-suite bathroom with a toilet. The third bedroom contains 2 bunk beds, and makes use of a separate bathroom with a shower. Please note, the toilets make use of greywater. A double sleeper couch is available in the lounge.
The open-plan kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and oven, a fridge, as well as tea- and coffee-making facilities. There is no microwave. Meals can be enjoyed at the dining table, and guests can relax in the lounge. Wi-Fi is not available.
The living area opens onto a deck with a built-in braai that overlooks the surrounds. Smoking is not allowed in the house. Please note cleaning services are not offered.
The house is independent of the power grid, and has a rainwater harvesting system. Guests are advised that the dishwasher, hairdryers, or other high wattage equipment can only be used during 10:00 and 16:00 when the sun is shining. Pets cannot be currently accommodated.
Guests can go bird watching, or explore the area on foot; guests are advised not to interact with any wildlife.
