Geelhout Cabin @ Platbos Log Cabins is a charming self-catering cottage nestled amongst other cabins on a picturesque farm, situated in a largely undiscovered valley set on the slopes of the Slanghoek mountains in the Western Cape. This cottage is ideal for a family or group of friends looking for a tranquil accommodation in nature.
This cottage can accommodate 6 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, a loft room, and 1 bathroom. The 2 bedrooms are each furnished with a queen-size bed, while the third bedroom has 2 single beds. They share the use of a bathroom fitted with a shower, basin, and toilet. Linen and towels are provided.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, gas stove, oven, basic cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities. It extends to a 6-seater dining table and opens up to the lounge furnished with comfy couches.
Outside, the unit opens up to a deck with outdoor seating and a kettle braai. Parking for this cottage is 50 m away and there is a wooden walkway leading to the cottage.
The area offers various activities, including fly-fishing, bird watching, hiking to the waterfall or along the Fynbos trail, swimming in the dam, putt-putt at the Slanghoek Resort, and mountain biking. Due to the remoteness of the units, guests staying in the cabins are advised to travel with a high-clearance vehicle.
