Description
Glen Harry Game Reserve is situated in Graaff Reinet and established in 2010. Set in beautiful surroundings, where guests are able to enjoy tranquillity and serenity within some of the most awe-inspiring scenery and landscapes the malaria-free Eastern Cape has to offer.
The privately located sleeping chalets are positioned with magnificent uninterrupted views of the reserve with wild animals roaming in the vicinity; it’s not unusual to step out of your room in the morning and see the footsteps of a herd of giant eland as they have passed like ghosts in the night.
The accommodation comprises 4 Lapa Cottages and 1 self-catering Cottage. The Lapa Cottages each contain 2 single beds that can be converted into a king-size bed on request and a shower en suite with a toilet and a washbasin. Each of the Lapa Cottages is equipped with air-conditioning, a kitchenette with tea- and coffee-making facilities and a bar fridge, a fireplace and free Wi-Fi.
The self-catering cottage has 2 bedrooms, each with 2 three-quarter beds and their own private bathrooms. The cottage has a small kitchen that is well-equipped for self-catering, a lounge area, an outdoor braai area and its own plunge pool.
A short lantern-lit trail from the individual Lapa Cottages leads to the communal seating, bar and dining areas where food is served along with roaring log fires and a selection of fine South African wines, spirits, beers and soft drinks on an individual charge basis. A boma allows for stargazing and storytelling and the built-in braai creates an atmosphere for communal gatherings where much cooking advice is shared. Internet, books, music and games are available. Guests have use of a lovely salt-water infinity pool with sun loungers.
For those with 4x4s who wish to traverse the river crossing themselves to the accommodation, covered carports are conveniently located. All other guests arrive by one of the Reserve’s game viewers.
