Description
Birdsong Cottage is a well-equipped and functional self-catering cottage set on the edge of the river in Malagas. Malagas is a settlement on the banks of the Breede River framed by the Potberg Mountain range, 30 km southeast of Swellendam and 280 km or a 2-and-a-half-hour drive from Cape Town. The cottage has bright open spaces and the look and feel of ‘less is more’.
Birdsong Cottage can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children and comprises 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. The main bedroom contains a double bed, and opens up to the wooden deck. The second bedroom contains 2 single beds. The bathroom contains a shower and a bath, a toilet and a washbasin.
The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering with a 4-plate gas hob, a 2-plate stove and mini-oven, fridge-freezer, bar fridge, microwave, kettle, and toaster. The dining area contains a 6-seater dining table and chairs. The lounge area contains ample seating, and has stacker doors opening to a wooden deck with outdoor dining furniture and panoramic views of the river.
The house has a sheltered outdoor braai area with a built-in braai, an outdoor shower, and a large garden that leads down to a private jetty. There is ample space for kids to run around.
