Description
Makhato Lodge 105 is a thatched self-catering bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve near Bela Bela. The Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo province is a private game reserve just 150 km from Johannesburg, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bushveld, encounters with zebra, kudu, impala and giraffe, or a spot of bird watching.
Lodge 105 can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, an upstairs loft room, and an open-plan kitchen, dining area and living room. The first bedroom contains a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a corner bath, a shower, a toilet, and a washbasin. The second bedroom contains a queen-size bed. This room has use of an adjacent bathroom with a corner bath, a shower, and twin washbasins. There is an additional guest bathroom with a shower and a toilet. The upstairs loft room contains 1 queen-size bed, and a lounge area that opens to a covered balcony.
The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering with a stove and oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, and a separate scullery. The dining area contains a 6-seater dining table and chairs. The lounge contains comfortable couches, and a flat-screen TV with a selection of DStv channels. The living area opens to a covered patio with outdoor dining furniture and a built-in braai. There is also a boma with a firepit.
Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy including game drives, horse rides, bicycles for hire, a 4x4 obstacle course, and guided quad rides.
