Description
Makhato Lodge 11 is a thatched self-catering bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve near Bela Bela. The Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo province is a private game reserve just 150 km from Johannesburg, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bushveld, encounters with zebra, kudu, impala and giraffe, or a spot of bird watching.
Lodge 11 can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, an upstairs loft room, and an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living area. The first bedroom contains a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, a shower, a toilet, twin washbasins, and an outdoor shower. The second bedroom contains a queen-size bed and a shower en suite with a toilet and twin washbasins. The third bedroom is an adjoining room with 2 single beds and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, a toilet and twin washbasins. All the bedrooms have overhead fans.
The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering. The dining area contains an 8-seater dining table and chairs. The lounge area contains comfortable couches, a fireplace, and a TV with a selection of DStv channels. There is a guest toilet near the entrance hall. The loft area contains a built-in bar and a second TV. The living area opens to a covered patio with outdoor dining furniture and braai facilities. There is also an outside boma with a firepit.
Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy including game drives, horse rides, bicycles for hire, a 4x4 obstacle course, and guided quad rides.
