Description
Makhato Lodge 23 is a thatched self-catering bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve near Bela Bela. The Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo province is a private game reserve just 150 km from Johannesburg, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bushveld, encounters with zebra, kudu, impala and giraffe, or a spot of bird watching.
Lodge 23 can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, an upstairs loft room, 3 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen, dining area and living room. The first bedroom contains a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and a shower. The second bedroom contains 2 single beds and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and a shower. The upstairs loft room contains a queen-size bed and a shower en en suite. There are ceiling fans in all the bedrooms, and the upstairs loft room also has air-conditioning.
The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering and is fitted with a fridge-freezer, stove and oven, microwave, kettle, and toaster, The dining area contains an 8-seater dining table and chairs. The lounge area contains couches and a flat-screen TV with a selection of DStv channels. Outside there is a covered lapa with an outdoor dining table and built-in braai. Covered parking for 2 cars is provided.
Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy including game drives, horse rides, bicycles for hire, a 4x4 obstacle course, and guided quad rides.
