Description
Makhato Lodge 75 is a thatched self-catering bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve near Bela Bela. The Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo province is a private game reserve just 150 km from Johannesburg, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bushveld, encounters with zebra, kudu, impala and giraffe, or a spot of bird watching.
Lodge 75 can accommodate up to 8 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, an upstairs loft, and an open-plan kitchen, dining area and living room. The first bedroom contains a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a corner bath, twin washbasins, a toilet and an outside shower. The second bedroom contains a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a corner bath, a shower, a toilet and twin washbasins. The upstairs loft room contains 4 single beds and a shower en suite with a toilet and washbasin. The loft opens to a covered balcony.
The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering and is fitted with a fridge-freezer, stove and oven, microwave, kette, toaster and a breakfast bar with stools. There is also a separate scullery. The dining area contains an 8-seater dining table and chairs. The lounge contains comfortable couches and a flat-screen TV with a selection of DStv channels. The living area opens to a covered patio with outdoor dining furniture. There is also a boma with seating, a firepit and a braai area.
Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy including game drives, horse rides, bicycles for hire, a 4x4 obstacle course, and guided quad rides.
