Description
Makhato Lodge 76 is a thatched self-catering bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve near Bela Bela. The Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo province is a private game reserve just 150 km from Johannesburg, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bushveld, encounters with zebra, kudu, impala and giraffe, or a spot of bird watching.
Lodge 76 can accommodate up to 8 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms, an upstairs loft room, 3 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen, dining area and living room. The first bedroom contains an extra-length queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, twin washbasin, a toilet, and a large outside shower. The second bedroom contains 2 extra-length single beds and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and a shower, twin washbasins and a toilet. The third bedroom and the upstairs loft room each contain 2 extra-length single beds. These 2 rooms share a bathroom with a shower, a toilet and a washbasin. All of the bedrooms have ceiling fans.
The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering and is fitted with a stove and oven, kettle and toaster. The dining area contains an 8-seater dining table and chairs. The lounge offers comfortable couches. The living area opens to a covered patio with a built-in braai and an 8-seater dining table and chairs. There is also a boma with a fire pit. The house has its own private watering hole.
Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy including game drives, horse rides, bicycles for hire, a 4x4 obstacle course, and guided quad rides.
