Description
Makhato Lodge 7 is a thatched self-catering bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve near Bela Bela. The Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo province is a private game reserve just 150 km from Johannesburg, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bushveld, encounters with zebra, kudu, impala and giraffe, or a spot of bird watching.
Lodge 7 can accommodate up to 8 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms, an upstairs loft room, 4 bathrooms, a kitchen and scullery and an open-plan dining and living area. The first bedroom contains a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and a shower, a toilet, twin washbasins, and an outdoor shower. The second bedroom contains 2 three-quarter beds and a shower en suite with a toilet and washbasin. The upstairs loft room contains 4 single beds and opens to an upstairs balcony with outdoor furniture. This bathroom contains a shower, a toilet and a washbasin.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and includes a fridge-freezer, stove and oven, and a microwave. The dining area contains a 10-seater dining table and chairs. The lounge offers comfortable seating and a TV with a selection of DStv channels. Sliding doors open to a covered patio with outdoor furniture. The house has a boma with seating, a built-in braai and a firepit, located next to a waterhole.
Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy including game drives, horse rides, bicycles for hire, a 4x4 obstacle course, and guided quad rides.
