Description
Makhato Lodge 80 is a thatched self-catering bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve near Bela Bela. The Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo province is a private game reserve just 150 km from Johannesburg, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bushveld, encounters with zebra, kudu, impala and giraffe, or a spot of bird watching.
Lodge 80 can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, an upstairs loft room, 2 bathrooms, and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. The first bedroom contains a double bed and an en-suite bathroom with a corner bath, a shower, twin washbasins, and a toilet. The second bedroom contains 2 single beds. The upstairs open-plan loft room contains 2 single beds, and opens to a covered balcony with outdoor dining furniture. These 2 rooms share a bathroom with a corner bath, a shower, twin washbasins, and a toilet.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with a stove and oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, and a separate scullery area. The dining area contains an 8-seater dining table and chairs. The lounge offers seating and a TV with a selection of DStv channels. The living area opens to a covered patio with a 10-seater outdoor dining table and chairs. The patio in turn leads to a boma with a built-in braai and a fire pit.
Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy including game drives, horse rides, bicycles for hire, a 4x4 obstacle course, and guided quad rides.
