Description
Makhato Lodge 89 is a thatched self-catering bush lodge located in the Sondela Nature Reserve near Bela Bela. The Sondela Nature Reserve in the Limpopo province is a private game reserve just 150 km from Johannesburg, where you can enjoy the tranquillity of the bushveld, encounters with zebra, kudu, impala and giraffe, or a spot of bird watching.
Lodge 89 can accommodate up to 8 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, an upstairs loft, and an open-plan kitchen, dining area and living room. The first bedroom contains a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath and a shower, as well as a large outside shower. The second and third bedrooms each contain 2 single beds. These 2 rooms share a bathroom with a bath and a shower. The upstairs loft room contains 2 single beds and a shower en suite. The loft opens to a covered balcony.
The kitchen features elegant marble tops, a stove and oven, a microwave, and a breakfast bar with stools, as well as a separate scullery with a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble-dryer. The spacious lounge contains couches and a flat-screen TV with a selection of DStv channels. The lounge opens to a covered patio with a built-in braai and outdoor dining table and chairs. There is also a boma with a firepit. Carport parking is available.
Sondela offers an on-site restaurant and bar, a farmyard coffee shop, a general dealer for basic necessities, communal swimming pools, a wildlife centre, and the on-site Iketla Wellness and Spa. There are plenty of activities to keep you busy including game drives, horse rides, bicycles for hire, a 4x4 obstacle course, and guided quad rides.
