Makuwa Safari Lodge is located in the Greater Kruger National Park, just 20 km from Orpen Gate. Makuwa Safari Lodge is the ideal bush base to explore Kruger and the surrounding beautiful areas of Mpumalanga. Settle into your bush experience with an evening sundowner as the sun sets over the Drakensberg Mountains on the horizon before enjoying a hearty meal prepared by our warm and friendly staff.

Accommodation is available in light and airy thatched rooms, that are each individually styled and furnished. Each room contains an en suite, mosquito nets, a fan and an airy covered patio overlooking lush lawns and a sparkling swimming pool.

Beyond the lawns, and fenced out, is the Makuwa Safaris Lodge's private reserve, home to buffalo, zebra, nyala, kudu and other plains game with the occasional leopard, wild dog and lion evident in the vicinity. Complementing the bushveld feel is the purpose-designed safari lodge.

Makuwa has an open and airy central lodge designed for entertaining in the bush. This open-plan kitchen and entertainment area leads onto the enclosed patio. A boma area, shaded by a huge fig tree, creates an ideal space for you to enjoy relaxed bushveld dining under the stars.
