Mountain View Retreat offers self-catering accommodation in an area of undiscovered panoramic beauty, rich in geological features, at the foothills of the Hlumu-human Mountains. Mountain View Retreat is found 8 km away from the small town of Badplaas known as Emanzana, in a beautiful valley in Mpumalanga, on the R38 road between Carolina and Barberton. It is just a 2-and-a-half-hour drive from Gauteng and an hour and a quarter from Mbombela (Nelspruit) and Ermelo. This accommodation is off the grid.

Mountain View Retreat offers accommodation in 7 self-catering chalets, each containing 3 separate bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a kitchen and dining area. The first bedroom contains a double bed. The second and third bedrooms each contain 2 single beds. The bathroom contains a shower, a wash basin, and a toilet. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, microwave, 2-plate gas stove, kettle, cutlery and crockery, and pots and pans.

The Mountain View Retreat also offers a standard-size pool, a private boma braai area for groups, a trampoline and jungle gym for children, a games lapa with a pool table and table tennis, a large sports field, and a dam with canoes. Catch-and-release bass fishing can be done on the dam.

The retreat is ideal for the nature lover, who wants to escape from it all as well as for family get-togethers, and church- and school groups. On neighbouring farms, within walking distance, there is a golf course and Mountain View is 1 km away from the closest mountain range which is ideal for day walks for the whole family.
