Our hostess gets 5 stars for helpfulness and friendliness. The beds and linen are also 5 star quality. She did her best to accommodate us. Unfortunately, the rest of the property is sub-standard compared to other accommodation we have stayed at. The living room sofas and kitchen equipment are outdated and run down, they need attention/replacement. There is also no mobile phone reception at the unit. The access road to the unit is very bad, not accessible to normal vehicles, overgrown and needs to be cut open. Acacia trees' thorns scratch your vehicle and the road is unscraped.

Thank you for your feedback and for acknowledging the services that you appreciated. However, I find a few things surprising with regard to your comments about substandard furniture requiring replacement, etc., and especially location - after all, you had to have seen from the address of the farm, where we were situated, so you had to have known where you were going.
I do disagree with your views regarding the roads (you arrived here in a very small panel van, with 6 adults and loaded with luggage, which could have possibly been the reason that your vehicle was sitting so low on the ground). I also disagree with your views on cleanliness, security, etc. (I am unaware of any security issue that you experienced). Furthermore, the cottage was just renovated prior to your booking (painting, etc). In an attempt, to remain unbiased, please find a review that was left on a different booking platform from people who have stayed at the cottage just prior to you:
"A pleasant experience at Ladismith Country House. The accommodation is on a beautiful farm outside of Ladismith. The roads are in good condition and lower vehicles like cars can easily access the farm. We were 5 people staying in the cottage. The rooms were clean and are well priced. The lady at the property is very friendly and has embraced us with much kindness even though we arrived very late at the property. Would definitely go back! 10/10"
