Description
Sandpiper Shores - De Kelders Getaway is a self-catering holiday home located in De Kelders, a coastal Village neighbouring Gansbaai and only 40 km from Hermanus. The house is within close proximity to the Plaat Nature Reserve which has a 22 km long wild beach which is accessible by 4x4, or alternatively you can park in the parking lot at the top of the first cove, meander down to the stunning sheltered beach, explore the archeological caves and discover all the charms that the other beaches, rock outcrops and coves have to offer. The beach has prolific bird life and the coves and rock pools are just beautiful. The walks along the cliffs are spectacular and perfect look out points to watch the Southern Right whales in whale season which starts in July.
The house can accommodate up to 6 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms each with an en-suite bathroom, and a kitchen and living area. The main bedroom contains a queen-size bed, and an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, a toilet and a washbasin. This room also features an outside shower. The second bedroom contains a queen-size bed, while the third bedroom contains 2 single beds. Both bedrooms feature an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower.
The compact kitchen is well equipped for self-catering and contains a gas stove, fridge-freezer, and cutlery and crockery. There is also a dishwasher and washing machine available. The double volume living area has a comfy lounge suite and opens up onto a large covered wooden deck stepping down onto a lawn and beautiful fynbos garden.
The house is 2 roads back from the cliffs and ocean but has really spectacular views of Walker Bay and the Hermanus mountains as it is on elevated ground. Sandpiper has free Wi-Fi access but does not have television as it is a place of relaxation, reading, conversation and games.
