Description

SpiritBird is a unique, off-the-grid retreat nestled on the border of Cape St. Francis Nature Reserve, a haven for nature enthusiasts and birdwatchers alike. With over 200 bird species spotted in the area, the location provides an ideal setting for birdwatching. The reserve covers 120 hectares and boasts a 3-kilometre coastline, preserving the endangered coastal dune forest. This rich landscape features scenic hiking trails, where guests have the opportunity to see wildlife such as otters, dolphins, seals, and even whales.

This eco-friendly home provides an exceptional family getaway with sweeping views of the dune thicket, Cape St. Francis beach, and the iconic Seal Point Lighthouse. Tucked into a natural bush, SpiritBird consists of the main house and the cottage and can be rented out individually or as a whole. The main house can accommodate 6 guests and comprises 2 en-suite bedrooms and an open-plan third room with a separate toilet. The cottage can accommodate 4 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Linen and towels are provided.

Both the main house and the cottage have open-plan kitchens equipped with a fridge-freezer, stove, oven, cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities, and feature a dishwasher. The kitchens extend to the dining areas, and further to the lounges furnished with comfy couches and a TV. The main house features a cosy fireplace. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available to all guests.

St. Francis Bay and Cape St. Francis captivate visitors with their stunning natural landscapes and diverse activities. The scenic canals and the Kromme River estuary create an ideal backdrop for leisurely river and canal cruises. Seasonal whale watching draws nature enthusiasts, while deep-sea fishing in the Benguela current area appeals to avid anglers. Known for its excellent waves, the region is also a haven for surfers, offering some of the best surfing conditions in South Africa.
