Description
Tamboershoek is a working sheep and game farm that offers a chalet that can sleep a family or group of 4.
Offering a panoramic view from the stoep, the chalet has 2 en-suite bedrooms. The first room has a king-sized bed, and the second room has 2 single beds. Both en-suite bathrooms are fitted with a shower.
The open-plan living area has a kitchen that is equipped with a gas fridge-freezer, a gas stove with an oven, and a dining area. The living area also has an indoor fireplace for the chilly Karoo nights. An outdoor braai area is also available, and a plunge pool is available to cool off in.
Please note that the chalet does not have any electricity; lights consist of oil lamps, and warm water is provided by a gas geyser. The unit also does not have cellphone or TV reception.
The farm is reached by a gravel road, and a high-clearance vehicle is recommended, although a 4x4 vehicle is not necessary. There is more than 1 route available; guests need to enquire for a route that will best suit their needs. Routes to the farm are also popular with semi-off-road touring motorcycle enthusiasts.
Guests are welcome to explore the farm on foot or by bicycle, and birders are welcome. Game on the farm includes blesbok, springbok, blou wildebeest, gemsbok, koedoes, the rare berg-patrys, and more.
