Description
The Boathouse is a spacious self-catering home ideally situated for a family holiday in Velddrif, on the West Coast.
The house is on a corner lot, one house away from the Berg River and one of the few places in Velddrif that offers direct access to the water. A security gate provides quick access from the house through an alley to the river.
This property can accommodate a total of 6 guests at a time and comprises 2 interleading loft bedrooms with low ceilings giving the feel of being on a boat, 1 bathroom, as well as a guest toilet. The first bedroom is furnished with a double bed and 2 single beds, while the second bedroom contains 2 single beds. To access the second bedroom, guests will have to enter through the first bedroom. These bedrooms share a bathroom located downstairs, fitted with a shower, toilet, and washbasin.
The open-plan living area features a kitchen fully equipped with a 2-plate induction stove, convection microwave, kettle, fridge-freezer, chest freezer, cutlery, and crockery, as well as a central 10-seater dining table. A washing machine and dishwasher are also available in the kitchen. Leading from the kitchen is a cosy lounge with an indoor braai, comfortable seating, and a TV. Board games and a dartboard are also available. Guests have access to DStv Premium streaming and Netflix. Unlimited Wi-Fi is available for guests.
In addition, the property has an outdoor area with an enclosed boma braai area and a cement court for sporting activities. The home features an additional outdoor bathroom with a toilet and a wash basin. The location of this home is within walking distance of the Berg River, providing quick access to the water. Pets are allowed by prior arrangement and the property is fully fenced.
Guests can enjoy facilities such as kayaking in the river; there are 2 kayaks with life jackets available for guests to use; fishing in the river is very popular; fishing gear is available for use. Guests can bring their boats and use the dock which is close to the house.
The area is also known as Rooibaai owing to its unbelievable sunsets.
