Description
Three Tree Hill Lodge is an intimate lodge tucked into the side of a rocky hill, overlooking the Mfazimnyama valley of the Spioenkop Game Reserve, surrounded by the site of a famous Anglo Boer War battle. Situated in the foothills of the Kwazulu Natal Drakensberg range, where rolling green hills are dotted with flat-crowned Acacia trees, giving it the quintessential ‘Out of Africa’ feeling.
Accommodation is offered in Double/Twin Cottages, Kipling’s Family Cottage, Churchills Cottage and Burchells Cottage. There are 3 cottages that can accommodate 4 guests while the other 6 cottages are each suited for 2 guests. Standard room facilities include tea- and coffee-making facilities, an electronic safe for valuables, free Wi-Fi and a hairdryer.
The old-world charm of the lounge and dining area with its large verandas creates an ideal environment in which to wind down and enjoy nature. Meals are often served outside where one can soak up the views while enjoying the exquisite local farm-style fare. The main lounge and dining area are linked by a central fireplace. The lounge is adorned with historical memorabilia and a collection of Africana for guests to enjoy.
Free Wi-Fi is available in the Molly Blackburn library. The library holds more than 3000 books to be enjoyed by guests. There is also an underground wine cellar, with a large selection of carefully selected South African wines. Private meals and wine tastings can be arranged here on request.
The lodge also offers a sheltered swimming pool, croquet lawn, sunrise viewing deck, sundowner viewing point, braai facilities, a children's outside play area with a jungle gym, trampoline, obstacle course, sand pit and a fantasy house.
