Description
Verlatenkloof Guest Farm is located right on the R354, 26 km before Sutherland. It is the ideal base to explore the district of Sutherland, with its beautiful mountain passes and the track that the Anglo-Boer War followed.
The farm offers comfortable self-catering accommodation in 6 cottages. The cottages on offer include Klipspringer, Dassiegat, Bojaankrans, Ribbok, Bergsig and Rivierhuis. Each cottage is equipped with comfortable beds, a bathroom fitted with either a shower or a bath, solar electricity, gas cooking facilities, a fireplace and a braai area. The prices include all bedding and towels. Free Wi-Fi is available.
As Verlatenkloof is also a working farm, guests are free to walk on the farm and also follow the sheep trail right to the top of the mountain where guests can enjoy the wonderful views of rolling hills. In the evenings the stars are spectacular, while tours to SALT, an acronym for Southern African Large Telescope, can be arranged by the host.
Nearby activities include bird watching, hiking and cycling.
