AA Badenhorst Family Wines
Description
The Kalmoesfontein farm in the Swartland area grows the grapes used to produce the AA Badenhorst Family Wines. It is owned by the cousins Hein and Adi Badenhorst, who converted a rather run down cellar on the farm from the 1930s, into the new home of their natural, traditionally made wines. The farmhouse, which received extensive renovations, is their home, and if you fall in love with the scenery and want to stay for a while, they have the Badenhorst Cottage available for rental.
The wines produced are Rosé, Red, and White. Under the Bardenhorst label, you’ll find a White Blend made from Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Semillion, Chenin Blanc, and a few others mixes, as well as a Red Blend which includes Mourvedre and Shiraz. A variety of wines are also exported overseas to countries such as the Netherlands, France, Ireland, South Korea, and New Zealand.
