AECI Dynamite Factory Museum

Description

The AECI Dynamite Factory Museum is a specialty museum in Modderfontein, Johannesburg, dedicated to the history of dynamite manufacture in South Africa. The museum puts particular emphasis on the use of dynamite in the mining industry with displays of artefacts from the working factory. Housed in the 1895 residence of the first Factory Manager, the museum also offers a social commentary and insight into the part played by some of the famous historical figures who helped shape the destiny of southern Africa.
