Aloe Ridge Game Reserve
Description
Aloe Ridge Game Reserve is a 525 hectare conservation park near Muldersdrift, only 40km from the Johannesburg city centre, and roughly 15km north-east of the Sterkfontein caves. The reserve is open to tourists to view game, visit the Zulu craft centre, and enjoy the fresh tranquillity of the bush.
The reserve has a strong emphasis on conserving the animals in their natural habitat. Various species of wildlife can be sighted at close range, including rhino, buffalo, hippo, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, ostrich, and a large variety of antelope. The birdlife at the reserve is prolific, with over 230 species that have been recorded to date.
