Blaauwklippen Vineyards
Description
Blaauwklippen Vineyards, named after the Dutch word for “Blue Rocks”, is a stunning wine estate located off the R44 between Stellenbosch and Somerset West. It is one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa, dating back to 1682. The estate offers the ultimate day our for couples and families with a Sunday market, kiddies’ playground, plenty of lush lawn for picnics, and a wine centre with various wine and food tasting available.
Wine tasting
Enjoy formal or informal wine tasting at Blaauwklippen in the Wine Centre or out in the sunshine while kids play on the jungle gym. Enjoy a wine tasting of 5 wines, and cellar tours are available. The chocolate and wine pairing available here is one of the best in the country.
Family Market
A family market is held every Sunday in the grounds of the wine estate from 10h00 – 15h00.
Kids activities
Children will love the playground, pony rides at the market on Sundays, carriage rides, friendly goats, and wide open lawns.
Barouche Restaurant
The restaurant will be closing down from 1 June and reopening in a larger venue in the Manor House.

Boasting a stately 17th century manor house, picturesque grounds and views of the stunning Stellenbosch mountains, Blaauwklippen Wine Estate is a beautiful venue for stylish weddings, conferences, team buildings and other events. With no less than 10 indoor meeting spaces and a variety of outdoor areas, the estate offers a full event planning service manned by a professional team.
