Cape Town Holocaust Centre
Description
The Cape Town Holocaust Centre opened in 1991 as the only Holocaust Centre in Africa. The centre is a memorial to the 6 million Jews killed during the Holocaust and has exhibits and multimedia presentations utilizing photography, film and text to tell the story of the Holocaust and survivors who moved to Cape Town.
It teaches about the consequences of racial discrimination and draws parallels between the Holocaust and the injustices of Apartheid. You will hear a survivor’s testimony and get a look at the portrait gallery. Please bring along identification for security purposes.
