Cape Wheel
Description
The Cape Wheel is Cape Town’s answer to the London Eye. Situated at the V&A Waterfront, this giant observation wheel, also known as the Hisense Wheel of Excellence, offers 360 degree views of Cape Town and the waterfront district. You’ll be able to grab some fantastic shots of Table Mountain, Robben Island, the Cape Town city skyline, Paarl Mountains, and the Cape Town stadium.
The Cape Wheel consists of 30 fully enclosed air-conditioned cabins that travel 40m above the ground on a 12 – 15 minute ride. The wheel takes around 2.5 minutes to revolve completely, and each ride is 4 revolutions so you can make the most of the views. There are also two wheelchair friendly cabins. Each cabin can take up to 6 adults, but if kids are part of the group, up to 8 people can fit in. You can even get married on the wheel!
