Clanwilliam Dam

Description

Clanwilliam Dam is a fantastic recreational dam in Clanwilliam, situated in the small town of Clanwilliam, just under 3 hours from Cape Town. During the scorching heat of summer, the dam is full of families and water lovers making use of the 18km long dam for all sorts of boating and water sporting activities, from swimming and water skiing, to wake boarding and tubing.

The edges of the dam are lined with holiday homes that can be rented out, and there are several camp sites which a re chock a block in the summer time. New Years Eve parties are held on the beaches in December.

Clanwilliam town is nearby and while remote, it offers a large Spar and plenty of coffee shops and boutiques worth a browse. The Cederberg mountains are fantastic for mountain biking and hiking, even during the cold winter months.
