Clovelly Country Club
Description
Clovelly Country Club is one of the finest golf courses in the country, nestled in the Silvermine Valley in Fish Hoek, Cape Town. Once only a sandy 9-hole course, Clovelly Country Club was designed by Dr Charles Molteno Murray, one of the best known golf architects of his day. Bobby Lewin was responsible for the magnificent landscaping on the course.
Today, Clovelly offers a challenging course with rolling, computer-irrigated fairways, undulating holes, and exquisite views of the mountains and False Bay. The course also features natural sand dunes and water features with plenty of indigenous fauna and birdlife. Unlike other courses, there is no noise interruption from roads or railways so you can tee off in peace. The course is unique in that it doesn’t follow the links or American tradition in its design, but rather testing holes and ponds that add to its character.
The golf course and its facilities are consistently rated in the top 50 of South Africa in Compleat Golfer’s annual survey. Please note there is a dress code for playing at Clovelly Country Club.
