Edendale Hospital, a public hospital operated by the KwaZulu Natal Health Department, is situated in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu Natal. The hospital was opened in 1954 with 620 beds and currently has 900 beds, making it the fourth largest hospital in South Africa in terms of hospital beds.

The hospital is situated at Lot 89, Selby Msimang Road, Plessislaer in Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu Natal. Nearby main roads are the M70 to the North of the hospital and the R56 and N3 highway to the East.

PAYMENTS

Edendale hospital is a provincial hospital, therefore services are free to pregnant and breastfeeding women as well as children under the age of six years old. Other citizens are charged according to a sliding scale depending on their income.
