Ekombe Hospital

Description

Ekombe Hospital, a public hospital operated by the KwaZulu Natal Health Department, is situated near Nkandla, KwaZulu Natal. The hospital was founded by Norwegian Lutheran Missionaries in 1878 and handed over to KwaZulu Natal Government in 1979.

GETTING THERE

The hospital is situated Qhudeni Area, 36km West of Nkandla in KwaZulu Natal. Qhudeni Area is located 40.6km South of the R68 between Dundee and Eshowe, and the turn-off is situated 75.2km South-West of Dundee on the R68.

PAYMENTS

Ekombe hospital is a provincial hospital, therefore services are free to pregnant and breastfeeding women as well as children under the age of six years old. Other citizens are charged according to a sliding scale depending on their income.
