Emdoneni Cat Rehabilitation Centre
Description
The Emdoneni Cat Rehabilitation Centre is a wonderful wildlife sanctuary for South Africa’s endangered wild cat species that have been orphaned or injured in the wild. Situated on a small game farm in Hluhluwe, KwaZulu-Natal, the sanctuary aims to care and rehabilitate these animals until they are ready to be released back into their natural environment.
Emdoneni offers a variety of exciting activities for all ages. Visitors can enjoy visiting the cat sanctuary to see cheetah, caracal, serval, and African wildcat, doing guided educational tours to learn about the cats, and enjoy daily feedings in the afternoons. Kids will be well looked after with an abundance of activities tailored specially for children, including game and night drives, guided walks, star gazing, target shooting, and a junior game ranger course. Should you get attached to any of the cats, you can also virtually adopt one of the cats.
In addition to the cat sanctuary, Emdoneni also features a restaurant and bar with a kiddies menu, a swimming pool, braai area, as well as excellent accommodation.
