Description
Kimberley Girls’ High School is a high school for girls in Kimberley, Northern Cape. The school is over 100 years old, making it one of the oldest girls’ schools in South Africa. It was named among Allan Gray’s Circle of Excellence 100 Schools in South Africa since 2010 and featured as the top academic school in the Northern Cape in 2013 and 2014. Kimberley Girls’ High School has classes from Grade 8 to Grade 12. The brother school is Kimberley Boys’ High School.
HERITAGE
Kimberley Girls’ High School was founded in 1887 as the Kimberley Undenominational School. It began as both a boys and girls school in separate wings of the same building. In 1927, the junior classes merged with Belgravia Junior School.
ACADEMICS
Kimberley Girls’ High School is known for its excellent academic record. It has placed as one of the tip 3 schools in the Northern Cape for the past 10 years. The 2014 Matrics achieved an impressive 100% pass rate.
