Description
Midmar Dam is a popular recreational spot located next to Howick in the middle of the Midlands Meander, KwaZulu-Natal. The reserve, covering a total of 2,857 hectares, is fantastic for water sports on the dam, cycling, hiking, angling, game viewing, and picnics.
Visitors can visit the wildlife park which features a variety of antelope and small game species. Bicycles, windsurfers, canoes, and yachts can be hired, and launch tours and sunset cruises can be booked by prior arrangement on weekends or during peak season. The shop sells curios and refreshments.
