Mtunzini Beach

Description

Mtunzini Beach is a hidden gem located around 140 km north of Durban, almost exactly halfway along the KwaZulu-Natal coastline. “Mtunzini" means “place in the shade" and offers simple beauty, peace, and relaxation for beach goers.

With a sub-tropical climate, Mtunzini Beach is a perfect year round destination for swimming, surfing, and many other water sports. It features dunes and sands that seem to stretch on forever, and a river that winds through the forest and pristine mangroves. There are lovely nearby walks and bird watching opportunities. Please be aware that the beach is not protected by shark nets due to its close location to a shark breeding ground.
