Nederburg
Description
Established in 1791, near Paarl, the Nederburg wine farm was first sold to a German immigrant, Philipus Wolvaart, who managed to bring the farm to a fruitful state in only six years. Since then, Nederburg has become a leading name in the South African wine making industry, and is currently the most awarded winery in the country.
Nederburg’s range of wines has been specifically designed to appeal to a wide range of wine drinkers. The flagship collection consists of a limited edition group of wines that have gained a reputation for their innovative styles and distinctive flavours.
Furthermore, the estate offers breakfasts, lunches, and dinners that are served in front of the manor house (these must be pre-booked). From November to March, picnic baskets packed with home-made delicacies can be pre-ordered and enjoyed under the giant oak trees with the spectacular Drakenstein Mountains as a backdrop.
