Pietermaritzburg Girls' High School (GHS) is a girls’ only high school in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. The school is spread out over a beautiful 11 hectare estate with trees, gardens, and playing fields. The school has classes from Grade 8 to Grade 12 and has approximately 900 day scholars and 216 boarders.
HERITAGE
Established in 1920, Pietermaritzburg Girls' High School was originally houses in the Morningside Mansion, home of Peter and Mary Davis. The main school building is now a national monument.
ACADEMICS
Pietermaritzburg Girls' High School is known for its excellent academic record in the National Senior Certificate (NSC) Examinations. The school motto is Cheerfulness with Industry.
