Ramsgate Beach

Description

Ramsgate Beach is an exceptional Blue Flag beach situated in Ramsgate, KwaZulu-Natal. Surrounded by natural vegetation that has been turned into a park-like area, it offers a beauty most people can’t resist. The warm water and sub-tropical climate allows for year-round swimming.

The beach is situated at the end of an estuary where pedal boats and other recreational activities are offered (but swimming is prohibited). Lifeguards are on duty throughout the year, and a whale-watching spot has been built opposite the beach. There is plenty of interpretive signage, informing visitors about local environmental issues. Other activities include fishing, collecting mussels from the rocks, and bird watching. Grab a bite to eat at the Waffle House, which offers some of the tastiest treats in the country!
