Salt Rock Beach

Description

The palm lined Salt Rock Beach, located north of Ballito and Shaka’s Rock on the KwaZulu-Natal coastline, offers a wonderful surfing and fishing spot, and some of the most stunning off-shore diving reefs in the region. Salt Rock's name dates back to the days of King Shaka, when his servants would collect dried salt at low tide for trade with the early settlers.

The beach is popular among families with a massive tidal pool that provides hours of safe paddling for the little ones. Lifeguards are on duty through the season and shark nets ensure safe swimming. Other facilities include lovely picnic areas, and clean showers and ablutions.
