Smitswinkel Bay Beach
Description
Smitswinkel Bay Beach is located in Smitswinkel Bay, just past Simon’s Town on the southern Cape Peninsula. The beach is accessible by foot or boat only and it takes a 15 minute walk down to reach the beach, with worthwhile ocean and mountain views along the way.
The bay is popular for snorkelling, diving, spearfishing, and trek netting. The water is calm and the rock pools are fantastic for the little ones to splash around in. Simply lie back and enjoy the view of False Bay spread out before you.
It’s a great spot for a picnic, provided you have the energy to climb down to the beach with all of your gear on you, as there are no amenities or lifeguards. You can boulder hop a short way in the direction of Cape Point at low tide and enjoy the sea cliffs and caves.
