South African Maritime Museum
Description
The South African Maritime Museum is a major attraction at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. It features floating exhibits such as the SAS Somerset (the world's last surviving boom defense ship) and the Alwyn Vincent (a steam tug) both of which are moored at the V&A waterfront.
Displays include reminiscent exhibits yearning for the romantic days of the Union Castle mail-ships, a shipwrights workshop and a 'discovery cove' for children.
