The Stellenbosch Slow Market, also known as the Stellenbosch Fresh Goods Market, is a popular community market held at Oude Libertas Wine Estate just outside of Stellenbosch in the Western Cape. The market celebrates good food with over 100 stalls of products that have been grown, raised, harvested, caught, preserved, handmade, or transformed by the local producers themselves. Think organic cheeses, fresh fruit and vegetables, green smoothies, samoosas, pancakes, fresh tea leaves, toasted ciabatta, and fresh lemonade.
Don't be fooled into thinking this market only offers food though. There are plenty of stalls flaunting clothes, jewelery, scarfs, bags, shoes, arts and crafts, home decor, and a whole lot more. Its a great place to pick up a proudly South African souvenir or gift for friends and family, and you're promised an entertaining morning while you're at it!
